The ZCode desktop app itself is free. Paid usage runs through Z.ai's GLM Coding Plan; individual plans bill monthly, quarterly at 20 percent off or yearly at 30 percent off, and team seats bill monthly or save 10 percent billed annually. A plan can also be covered by a BigModel resource package, account balance or another provider's API key.

Runs on a GLM Coding Plan, or connects a BigModel resource package or account balance, an enterprise team-managed channel, a self-hosted service approved by a team, or a pasted API key. Third-party services connect over the Anthropic or OpenAI protocols, including Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter, Moonshot and MiniMax, and any compatible custom endpoint such as DeepSeek.
