The agent is free. Nous Portal is an optional subscription that bundles inference plus web search, image generation, text to speech and a cloud browser. The docs describe Hermes as an autonomous assistant rather than a coding copilot, it also runs as a gateway on Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, Signal and email. Windows installs with a PowerShell one liner.

Nous Portal is one OAuth login across 300 plus hosted models. The providers page also lists Claude Max over OAuth, ChatGPT over the Codex device flow, GitHub Copilot, SuperGrok, and Ollama, vLLM, llama.cpp, LM Studio, SGLang or any OpenAI compatible endpoint. Switch with hermes model.
